Nivi as she is popularly known amongst friends, has won the admiration of all those who have tasted her lovingly made food. Having come to the UK in 2006 , she brings a fresh new taste of Modern India to satisfy the taste buds of a young and vibrant generation of new age India.
Nivi was born with an inherent love for cooking and caringly nurtured by her grandmother Mrs. Hirabai Raje. She had the privilege of learning the traditional way of home cooking. Age old recipes were shared by her grandmother and Nivi surprised all with her natural cooking skills at a very young age. Born in a CKP family where love for food (especially sea-food) is always supreme, Nivi soon learnt her art. She grew up in a joint family and soon understood the diversity in individual dietary and taste requirements. This till date reflects in the variety of dishes that she excels at.
Married in Deshastha Rigvedi Brahmin family, Nivi now had exposure to the vegetarian fare of Brahmin cooking. With her natural talent she excels at this too. Not to say that her hubby and family is a huge fan of her vegetarian feast! Nivi’s in-laws were from Nagpur and Tasgaon near Sangli/Kolhapur (Maharsahtra express!) with most relatives in Mumbai and Pune. She has lived at Nashik for few years. Her grandmother belonged to Nagaon near Alibaug and mother came from Malvan. Phew!! Has she covered Maharashtra? Probably this explains why she is equally good at making `Ukadiche’ and `Fried’ modaks both, `Kolambi bhat’, `Vada bhat’ and `Masale bhat’ , `Saoji Curry’ or `Pandhara & Tambda Rassa’, `Valache Birde’ and `Mutter Usal’.
Think of all those dishes which you haven’t tasted in a while (or years?) sure, you can have it now. Why not place your order today with Earthen Oven and Nivi will be happy to serve it lovingly for you.
